Do I have to be vegan to stay at Haye?
Not at all! We welcome omnivores and vegetarians who are vegan-curious and would like to know more about animals, or those who have tried Veganuary and think maybe a plant-based lifestyle could work for them. What better way to start than on a relaxing holiday surrounded by animals where all profits go towards their care.
We’d love to show you how and what we eat, and introduce you to another way of living. You are also welcome to do absolutely nothing and just enjoy your own company!
We just request, out of respect for our residents, that you don’t cook animal products on site.
I want to get involved! What clothes should I wear?
If you’d like to hang out with our rescue donkeys, ponies and chickens, please bring clothes you don’t mind getting dusty or dirty.
If you’d like to find out more about our land regeneration projects and sustainability activities, you’ll need wellies and maybe waterproofs. We have some spare wellies if it unexpectedly starts raining (well, it is Cornwall!)
What else can we do at Haye?
We have a beautiful studio, called The Space, where you can exercise or stretch, plus we can arrange private classes for you in yoga, Pilates, or Qui Gong.
You can also try vegan soap making, or green wood carving, and we can arrange massages for you on site, all subject to availability.
We hold vegan retreats here [xxxlinkxxx] so if you’re a solo traveller and want to come to Haye and be active, these are a great option!
Is Haye near the beach?
We’re less than 30 minutes from
Looe, a beachside town with cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, and even a chip shop (The Catch) that has vegan chips and options.
Millendreath, a family friendly beach with cafes and SUP and wetsuit hire.
Seaton, another family friendly beach, with cafes and rock pools at low tide.
Tregantle, which has a gentle, shallow beach perfect for swimming and surfing, and RNLI lifeguards in summer.
Tregonhawke, an absolutely stunning piece of Whitsand Bay, with Adventure Bay Surf School at the bottom of the cliff and Eddystone Beach Cafe at the top (great vegan options!)
